So, anyone got any books to recomend for reading over the summer?
The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson is really, really good. Especially the first three. It starts with The Angel Experiment.

Hey! ye i suggesttwo serieses that are 'nice': The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan (beggining with Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief), And also The companions quartet by Julia Golding (the first of which is Secret of the Sirens). These two are really 'nice' summer reads. And for the less 'nice' loving reader : Another series called VAMPIRATES by Justin Somper, the first book is Demons of the ocean. these books are still quite pretty (its not as evil as it sounds believe me), but theyre very good, my favourite so far is the second, Tide of Terror. And its really quite 'nice' but also verrrrry well done. So now ive taken the time to write all this, (and typing is not my best thing) you had better read at least the first in each series.

I would struggle to read the first five of the companions quartet, it being only four books... Anyway, I've read all of them already.
As for the others, I'll have to see if I can find them at the library.

Maybe I misread it. Unless you've changed your post, it does say first now... Anyway, at the moment I've nearly finished Executive Power by Vince Flynn, which is about the third or fourth time I've read it since the series was recommended to me a few months ago. I managed to find the first two in the series at long last on Saturday, so I've read them, and last night I read Hide and Seek by James Patterson until quarter to one, because I couldn't put it down. It was a combination of really short chapters that meant I always had to read one more chapter, and the fact that if I'd stopped it would have done my head in until I finished it. Oh yeh. If you want to see exactly what I'm reading and reveiws of all the books I read over the summer, go to: nutmegangelauthor.blogspot.com

Ooooh snazzy!
I'm just about to finish Shadowmarch by Tad Williams. It has been the longest book of my life! I had to read others simultaneously to stave off boredom. It's a good book, but not good enough to make me read it as quickly as I think it is meant to be read. Oh well. It's not bad, just not 'Lord of the Rings' quality, even though it's 'Lord of the Rings' length.

I've just finished Memorial Day by Vince Flynn. Going through a re-reading phase... It's good, about a plot to blow up Washington DC with a nuclear bomb. Unfortunately the terrorist don't quite succeed.

Ooooh naughty! You could be hanged for treason you know! If you like that kind of thing (heres where i get unconventional) there is a very good film called 'V for Vandetta' which is also a graphic novel. I suggest it.

But I'm no longer an American resident, so it wouldn't be treason, it would be um... Something else. I'm currently reading The Subtle Knife. Don't think it's quite as good as the first one.

What did you do to the text on that?
I've finished the second, but now I'm reading Pride and Prejudice, believe it or not. I thought it was a good book to read to make myself fall asleep, but it failed in that respect because I started to quite enjoy it...

I am ashamed of you. SHAME! SHAME! At the moment I am reading 'The Hobbit', which i don't reccomend for summer because I do not think it appropriate. Rather, read 'Twilight' by Stephanie Meyer, it is a lovely romance, without most of the soppy bits. Instead it is intruiguing - even though the main mystery is soooo obious as to be unreal - and quite dark in parts.

I've been told that The Amber Spyglass is the best of the lot, so I think I'll read it, but at the moment I'm writing more than reading.
